DRDO NSTL Recruitment 2026: The Naval Science & Technological Laboratory (NSTL), a laboratory under the Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO), has released a notification for a walk-in interview to recruit junior research fellows (JRFs) in different engineering disciplines.
This recruitment offers a valuable opportunity for engineering graduates and postgraduates to work on advanced defence research projects at NSTL, Visakhapatnam, one of India’s premier naval research centres.
DRDO NSTL Recruitment 2026: Overview
The Junior Research Fellowship will be given for two years at first, but it might be extended according to DRDO criteria and the person’s performance. The chosen candidates will get a monthly salary of ₹37,000, plus any House Rent Allowance (HRA) that applies.
There are seven JRF posts open in different fields, including mechanical engineering, electronics, computer science, and instrumentation.
DRDO NSTL Recruitment 2026: Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Educational Qualification
- A valid NET or GATE score and a B.E./B.Tech in a related field with First Division,
OR - The candidate must have an M.E. or M. Tech degree in a field that is related to the job and have gotten first division in both their graduate and postgraduate studies.
- You need to have both a graduate and a postgraduate degree in the same field.

- Age Limit
- Age limit: 28 years old on the day of the interview.
- According to the norms of the Government of India, SC/ST/OBC applicants might have their age relaxed.
Selection Procedure
A walk-in interview will be used to choose the winner. If needed, NSTL may provide candidates a written test with objective questions to narrow down the list of people who will be interviewed. The interview will be the last step in the selection process. A group of chosen applicants will be ready, and they will be good for one year.

Candidates who are interested and qualified must come to the walk-in interview in person. Candidates should bring:
- Personal information
- One set of photocopies and the original certificates
- Proof of birth date
- NET/GATE scorecard (if you need one)
- Certificate of category (if needed)
- A real photo ID
- Two pictures the size of a passport
You can pay the ₹10 exam cost with a demand draft, an Indian postal order, or online. Candidates from SC/ST/OBC groups do not have to pay the fee. There will be no TA/DA.
